Here at Bashmasks we are big fans of Bunks (BSC Punks), as (in a similar fashion to Bashmasks) it puts to the test the very core concepts of digital ownership and NFTs. However, this challenge has not weakened that philosophy, but rather the value proposition for verifiable ownership of digital art has emerged from the threat stronger than ever. The art isn’t the picture, contrary to what critics parrot, there is no “ctrl+c” attack threatening NFTs. Ultimately digital artwork is the combination of the image, the verified ownership and choice of settlement layer, and the community. Hashmasks and Punks continue to be bought, sold, and appreciated by their own community, and now a brand new community of art connoisseurs has grown up around Bunks and Bashmasks.
The Bashmask dev team is excited to announce that we have heard the cries of anguish from our brothers within the Bunks community, and are here to save the day.
We have developed our own marketplace for the buying and selling of Bunks: https://bashmasks.com/marketplace
This marketplace contains no exploits or custody risk, and there are zero user fees or transfer taxes. We proudly feel that it will provide the best user experience available today for the Bunk community to buy, sell, and explore the wide variety of Bunk artwork. The code is open source and we invite the Bunk community to examine it for themselves.
Why did we take time to do this? One, because “we like the art.” There is a large overlap between the Bunk and Bashmask communities, and many of us own Bunks ourselves. In order to flourish and grow, an artistic community needs a safe, secure, and smooth marketplace in which to transact and view their art. Our hope is that this marketplace contributes to the growth and strengthening of the Bunk community. Instead of worrying about how to divide the pie, let’s work together to make it bigger.
As Bunkers and Bashers, we are stronger together. Here at Bashmasks we look forward to further cultivating our relationship with the Bunk community as we push the boundaries of digital ownership together.
The Marketplace
We are launching the marketplace with limited functionality for now as we know you all are itching to use it. Filtering, sorting, and searching features will be pushed out in updates (hopefully later tonight!).
For now, in order to search for a specific Bunk start by clicking on any bunk on the Marketplace, and then in your browser URL change the final digits to the ID number of your desired Bunk. Hit “Enter,” and then you will be taken to that Bunk’s specific page where you can either place bids, cancel bids, place sells, or cancel your sells.
For those of you with currently locked bids on Bunks, you can use this marketplace to finally unlock your BNB! Once again, we pushed this marketplace out with limited (though hopefully flawless) functionality, and will be pushing out updates throughout the night until it is full featured. Bunk on, brothers!
